Jonathan Duffy

Jonathan DuffyJonathan Duffy is the presenter at the town meetings and is currently director of Adventist Health in the South Pacific region.

He has 25 years of public health experience in school, community, hospital and corporate settings.

Jonathan has done extensive research in resiliency in young people and has presented at conferences on resiliency in New Zealand, Australia, the United States, South Africa, the Pacific and the Philippines. 

 

 

   Paul Rankin

Paul RankinPaul Rankin, the organiser of the Circle Of Courage Tour, is passionate about the immense potential of each young person if given a positive environment.

Paul has been working with young people for over 30 years.

He is married with three school age children, his oldest daughter Rebekah, is also a cyclist on the tour.

 

 

   Doug McLeod

Doug_big_2Doug McLeod has been working with young people for 25 years.

He has a passion for developing and presenting personal growth programs, primarily for young people.

While Doug is new to cycling he is no stranger to endurance sports, having run over 100 marathons and ultra-marathons.

He lives in Auckland, is married with two adult children and recently became a grandparent. 


   

  Neone Okesene


Neone Okesene

Neone Okesene, a Samoan, is the oldest cyclist.

An active runner when younger, he has only recently taken up cycling. Neone loves singing and has appeared on the Stars on Sunday TV program in the late 1970s.

He is married to Susana, is a father of five and a doting grandfather of four.

He loves working with young people and believes every one of them is of inestimable value. 

 

 

  Jake Ormsby

Jake Jake Ormsby, a Kiwi with Irish and Maori ancestry curently works as school chaplain.

He also has experience as a school teacher and principal.

Although Jake’s grandfather war a keen cyclist, Jake prefers recreational cycling when he can find the bike pump.

He is married with two teenage children and believes young people are at risk if they are not loved and nurtured

He hopes to encourage adults to develop quality friendships with them.

 

  Rebekah Rankin

Rebekah RankinAt 16, Rebekah Rankin is the youngest member of the team. 

She’s finished high school and is currently thinking of doing studies in graphic design or journalism. 

Rebekah is looking forward to spending a month on the road in another adventure with her dad, Paul.

Rebekah is an avid cyclist who loves a challenge and is looking forward to the experience of cycling the length of New Zealand.

  

 

  Norah West

Norah WestNorah West is a keen mountain biker but only started road riding in June 2006.

She is a mother of a young teenager whom she homeschools.

She works part-time ruuning camps for school children and has been the leader of her local churches youth activities club, Pathfinders, for the last five years.

Norah has seen the adverse effects of youth problems, with two of her friends choosing to take their lives at an early age. These tragedies have motivated her to help young people and give them a sense of belonging and hope for the future. 

 

 

  Steve Kennelly

Steve KennellySteve Kennelly is the manager of Mt Hutt Retreat, a camp in the Canterbury High Country where Steve spends most of his time running programs for school children .

Steve is passionate about outdoor activity and the impact that the outdoors can have on young people, when an adult takes the time to share the outdoors with them.

Steve is married with three children.
